Set a Sunder
-
I see your face threefold;
worried, questioned and dared.
Welcoming arms posed to bestow but never to take.
Unwilling to receive what few others have to offer you.
At the center of attention,
reclused inside that shell,
your stance reveals those haunting emotions.
Surrounded by music, laughter, noise
and still the deadening silence
inside reminds you of the solitude within.
Isolation is the usual partner.
Still searching for the possible
companionship of the unknown.
Withdrawn in the ever revolving past,
alone, forsaken in a world,
that's rushing by,
incapable of catching up.
Orbiting around inside,
pipe dreams of happiness,
delude your thinking,
wanting to erase putrid memories.
Reliving them over and over, trying to backtrack.
As I stand before this devoid lake,
like an empty mirror,
sans reflection,
wanting to jump in and find you.
So I can help you culminate your journey.
I see you emerge from within
the grasp of the vlei of schism.
Triumphant!
